To say that Kate Gosselin has been a controversial figure lately is putting it mildly, but recent pictures of the reality TV mom in the magazine “In Touch Weekly” have poured gasoline on the proverbial fire. Photos were taken June 13 th of Kate Gosselin spanking her daughter Leah outside their home. Witness have told the press that Leah had blown a whistle after Kate had told her not to. At that point Kate grabbed her arm and spanked her.

Kate Gosselin has responded to the pictures by saying “Whether the paparazzi are there or not, I am a mother first. I love my children and when they misbehave, I discipline them as I deem appropriate for the situation.”

Keeping tabs, the Gosselins are now part of the debate over kids on TV, the treatment of animals and whether spanking is right or wrong.
